Racing Post

The Racing Post is the definitive daily horse racing newspaper for the UK and their web site occupies much the same position online.

You'll need to register in order to get the best from the information the Racing Post site provides.

Registration is free, but there are some areas of the site you'll have to pay to access. These are charged for only as and when you access them.

One Web Site - 3 Editions

They provide 3 editions of the web site tailored to individual needs. The core content such as racecards, news results etc, are consistent across the three editions, but the other panels are selected to meet the interests of the three types of user.

The Bloodstock edition is aimed at the bloodstock community and displays information such as recent sales results, stallion tables and international ratings.

The Betting edition is aimed at the punter and provides information regarding market movers, racing tips and bookmaker odds.

The Racing Edition is aimed at the racing professional / enthusiast and attempts to tread the line between the other two.

It is easy to switch between the different editions using the dropdown selector on the sites menu bar.

Racing Content

The racing content on the site is broken down under several separate headings:

Cards & Results
Provides full colour racecard information for the days races. It includes their forecast betting odds for each of the runners together with their own Racing Post Ratings and Topspeed Ratings for each of the runners.

Also included are the things you come to expect from the Racing Post, such as spotlights on each of the horses, spotlight verdict on who they think will win the race, Postdata selections, newspaper tipsters selections and complete form guide for all the horses.

They provide a clickable calendar that enables you to go back to look at past race results and forward to view future race entries, including 4 and 5 day declarations, plus lists of declared runners for up coming major races.

News
All the latest news and horse racing related stories, including race reports, festival previews, race course going, weather reports and lists of non runners.

They also have a news archive where you can search through past stories from the paper and online version of the Racing Post.

Statistics
Seasonal statistics for jockeys, trainers, owners, horses and sires, going back to 1988. Includes details of wins, runs, prize money and profit and loss figures if backing to £1 level stakes.

Courses
Details for all of the UK race courses, including list of upcoming meetings, course statistics, standard times for each of the race distances, plus list of principle races, admission prices, directions to get to there and course maps and course characteristics.

Search Results
Search through the Racing Post database for past results for horses, jockeys, trainers and owners, plus search for details of courses, stallions and dams.

Classifieds
Ads for anything horse racing related, including horses for sale, racing clubs / partnerships and trainer services.

Bloodstock

Sales
Directory detailing all up coming horse racing sales, plus summary of past sales and sales search facility.

Stallion Book
Details of all current standing stallions, sires and dam's sires. Includes pedigree trees, list of progeny, progeny stats, stories and progeny race videos.

Ratings
Current and best International race ratings for both flat and jump horses.

Greyhounds

The Racing Post web site also provides full coverage of greyhound racing, including latest news, race cards, betting odds and past results.
