About Bangor-On-Dee Racecourse
Bangor on Dee is a left handed jumps racecourse set in glorious countryside and overlooked by the Welsh hills. It's owned and run by Chester Race Company Ltd, who unsurprisingly also run Chester racecourse. Bangor has a unique character, amplified by the fact that it's the only UK racecourse that doesn't have a grandstand.
The first steeplechase meeting took place at Bangor in 1859 over pretty much the same course that they race on now. Many of the top trainers send their horses to race at Bangor as part of their education.
Their web site includes information on fixtures, tickets & badges, sponsorship, annual badges, beginners guide to racing, course map, travel & parking, restaurants and private hospitality.

National Hunt:
Left-handed, triangular shaped, circuit of 1 mile 4 furlongs. Apart from a couple of small dips it is almost flat, with three sharp bends, notably on the paddock turn. Compact nippy horses do well here, especially front-runners.
Point to Point
Point-to-Pointing is an amateur form of steeple chasing that takes place on the inner course at Bangor-on-Dee.
