How Does Tip-ie Work?

In order for Tip-ie to place the bets at the right time, your PC needs to be connected to the Internet. It's therefore pretty essential you have a broadband connection. Tip-ie uses the Betfair API to place the bets, so you'll also need to sign-up to the Betfair API agreement (don't worry it's free and painless).

When you load Tip-ie it will prompt for your Betfair username and password:

Once logged in you'll see the following Main Page (where bets are entered):

The top menu gives you options to save and load program settings, read about the latest program releases from IE Software, import selections (more about that later) and load any tipsters selections (including free ones and any you subscribe to).

Below the menu are the options to configure Tip-ie for your betting requirements:

The basic settings appear on the first line and act as default values for the bets you enter. They can be set individually after you've entered each bet, but if you intend using the same values for a number of selections, it makes things a lot easier to set them before entering your bets.

STP (Seconds To Post) - is the number of seconds prior to the start time of the race you wish Tip-ie to place the bet (e.g. 300 is 5 minutes before the start of the race).
Bet Type - Select if you'd like to (B)ack the selection to win or (L)ay to lose.
Either type in the Stake amount or use the scroll buttons to select.

Use the dropdown box to select which Odds you wish Tip-ie to use when placing the bet or enter the Fixed odds that you wish to place your bet at:

The second line of options offer more advanced settings, which I'll cover later, but first I'll show you how to Enter Selections >>.

To obtain a copy of Tip-ie and see what effect it can have on your betting visit the IE Software web site.
