Betfair Sportsbook

Best known for their betting exchange, Betfair also offer a traditional style sportsbook, where you can bet at fixed odds. They were founded in 1999 and launched their betting exchange in 2000, which revolutionised betting, enabling customers to come together and bet against each other and allowing punters to lay a horse to lose a race, rather than back it to win.

In 2001 they merged with fellow betting exchange flutter.com and also introduced "in-play" betting the same year.

They launched their traditional fixed odds Sportsbook in 2013 and include a range of unique products that integrate their Exchange and Sportsbook. Any money deposited with Betfair can be used for betting on both their exchange and sportsbook.

£30 in Free Bets

Register an account with Betfair using the promotion code ZSK200 and place a sportsbook (fixed odds - not exchange) bet of at least £10, at odds of 1.2 (1/5) or greater. Betfair will then give you £30 in free bets.

If you're opening an account with Betfair, it's a good idea to signup via their sportsbook rather than the betting exchange side of the site. Placing your first bet on the sportsbook entitles you to £30 of free bets, where as if you signup via the exchange you only get £20. If they're offering you an extra £10, it makes sense to take it. Also the £30 free bet is split across 3 separate bets, where as the £20 free bet is a single bet refund. See their site for full t&c's.

Best Odds Guaranteed

Betfair offer Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) on all UK and Irish horse racing winner markets, plus selected Greyhound races. It applies to any price taken on singles on the day of the race, for both win and each-way bets.

Price Rush

When placing your bet on the Betfair Sportsbook sometimes you get a "Price Rush", where they increase your bet to higher odds, thanks to their betting exchange.

As your bet is placed they automatically check the prices offered by their customers on the exchange. If your price has been rushed you will see a confirmation message on your bet receipt and the new potential return shown will include this rush.

Even though they match your price with odds available via their exchange, you don't pay any commission on the bet. It also works along side their Best Odds Guaranteed. So if you place a bet on horse racing win market and there are higher odds available on the Exchange, you may get them automatically, through Price Rush. If the odds then drift upwards before the start of the race, Best Odds Guaranteed will kick in, and you'll get paid at the higher SP.

Price Rush is available for both win and each way bets on UK and Irish Horse Racing. It's also available on certain markets for Football, Tennis, Basketball, American Football, Ice Hockey and Darts. Multiple bets do not qualify for Price Rush.

Live Race Streaming

You can watch horse racing live via their race streaming. When betting via their Sportsbook a minimum bet of £0.50 (or £0.25 each-way) on the race is required to view it. Compared to a minimum matched bet of £5 for bets placed on their Exchange.
