March proved a good month for a number of tipsters who proof their selections to Racing-Index. Here are some of the highlights.
Backing To Win
Top of the pile was the Boost My Income Racing Accumulator service, with a whopping 92.67 points profit based upon 1 point level stakes at Betfair SP. This is despite them only actually proofing selections on 4 days during the month. The majority of their profits came on 11th March, where they backed 15 winners from 57 bets proofed, including winners at 14/1 (BSP 21.0) and 16/1 (BSP 20.89). I don’t know why it was they only proofed on 4 days. Given the number of selections they had on those days it makes no sense they wouldn’t have selections on other days. I’ll get in touch with them and report back on the blog what I find out.
It was also an excellent month for the Gleith Racing Pluto service. They started proofing the service in December last year and results prior to March had been disappointing (especially February) but 63.84 points BSP profit in March saw them bounce back well, especially given there was a period between the 11th – 20th, where they didn’t proof any selections. Their success rate of 34.5% for the month, was well up on their average of around 25%, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can carry the good form on into April.
2020 Racing were also in great form, banking 57.03 points profit, thanks mainly to the victory of Flying Tiger @ 33/1 (BSP 57.28) at the Cheltenham festival, but they also picked winners at 10/1 (BSP 13.0), 9/1 (BSP 12.0) and 8/1 (BSP 9.84), amongst 32 successful bets from 155 selections.
The Racing Edge performed well during the first half of March and produced 49.8 points profit to BSP for the month, but that doesn’t really show the full picture. They announced on their site at the end of February that they had a new tipster making the selections and when I wrote about the service prior to Cheltenham, the service was going great. However half-way through the festival something seemed to go amiss with the service and they stopped proofing. I contacted them to find out what was going on, but have not received a reply. Since I contacted them they have proofed on 21st, 25th and 30th March, but things don’t appear to be right with their service and results haven’t been updated on their site since 14th March. It’s a shame as things were starting to look really good for their service, but given the current position it’s not a service I can recommend.
Two other services worth a mention for their March performances are One Horse Racing Tips and Oddswise Racing, who produced profit on turnover figures of 85% and 70.3% respectively. One Horse Racing Tips had 5 winners from 12 bets, giving a BSP profit of 10.2 points for the month, where as Oddswise Racing had 10 successful bets from 38 selections, giving a BSP profit of 26.72 points.
Laying To Lose
On the lay betting side of things, the best performance came from Betfair Humanoid. The service only started proofing on 7th February, so it’s too early to draw too many conclusions, but a profit of 5.90 points in February was followed up by 7.22 points in March, based upon 1 point risk per bet. Their selections are a mixture of lay and place lay bets, which enables them to keep the odds low. Their strike rate for March was 67.86%, with 19 successful bets from 28 selections. I’ll be keeping an eye on their performance to see if they can maintain the great form.
Also doing well in March with their lay bets were Worldwide Tipping Service with a profit of 6.3 points, thanks to 38 winning bets from 43 selections, giving a strike rate of 88.37% and Horse Laying Professionals with a profit of 4.82 points. They also had 38 winning bets, but from 51 selections, giving a strike rate of 74.51%,
