Backing To Win
July saw some fine performances from the tipsters who proof their selections to Racing-Index, with over 20 points profit returned from 10 of the services, based upon 1 point level stakes at Betfair SP.
Top of the pile this month was Speculate 2 Accumulate’s The Gravy Train service. This service used to be available via their sister site Tipping Supermarket, but they have now closed that site down and transferred the majority of Tipsters across to Speculate 2 Accumulate. The Gravy Train service made a profit of 54.55 points during July, with the profits all coming at the beginning of the month. An each-way winner at 20/1 (BSP 38.0) saw them get the month off to a great start, followed by other winners at 4/1, 11/2, 8/1 and 15/2, put them 57 points in profit by the 10th of the month. Last month I talked about the snap back effect that often happens after a good run, but they managed to consolidate the profits, to end the month only slightly off the peak.

Racing Oracle.com followed a similar pattern of profits during July, albeit with less betting days. They too made their profits early in the month, hitting 60 points profit on the 11th and likewise finished the month slightly down from the peak, ending the month with a profit of 53.22 points profit.

It was the opposite for T2W Tips – Lucky 31 Tips. They started the month badly and were down over 11 points by the 6th, but a steady stream of winners, saw their fortunes improve and they finished the month 30.33 points in profit. Their Lucky 15 Tips also had a good month, returning a profit of 28.25 points and their Each Way Double service returned 24.62 points profit.
Although the selections are proofed as singles, the intention of the Lucky 31 Tips is for the 5 daily selections to be staked as a Lucky 31 bet. On 23rd of July 1 selection was a non runner, but the other 4 all won, which would have meant a big payout for anyone backing them as a lucky 31.
I’ve not checked to see if they handle the non runner correctly, but according to the free bet calculator, a £31 bet would have returned £904 profit based on SP.

T2W Tips – Long Shot Singles was the best performer during June, with a profit of 90.49 points profit, but they gave all the profits back during July, with a loss of 91.65 points, which goes to show it can be a bit of a roller coaster ride backing outsiders.
Last month I gave a special mention to Stable Winners who had only been proofing for 2 weeks, but had still managed a profit of 48.9 points. July was a much more volatile month for their service, they were down early in the month, before rallying to show a profit near the end of the month, before losing out in the last couple of days, to show an overall loss of 5.39 points. Despite the loss I feel they’re still an interesting service to keep an eye on.

Laying To Lose
On the lay betting side there was only one tipster to show a significant profit during July. Sniper Bets showed the sort of form they were in before they renamed their service from Betfair Humanoid. They returned a profit of 8.53 points, with a 62% strike rate, based upon 1 point risk per selection.
It was a disappointing month for, last months top lay service, L7ucky7. After the 10.86 profit they made in June, they returned a loss of 9.37 points in July.
