Backing To Win
The final day of the Royal Ascot meeting saw some excellent profits for a couple of the services who proof their selections to Racing-Index. SpeedRatings.com Layer Slayer hadn’t seen any winners from 22 selections over the first 4 days of the festival, but that all changed on Saturday. First up Snoano won the Wolferton Rated Stakes at 25/1 (BSP 42.12) and then, not wanting to be out done, Out Do obliged at a similar price in the Wokingham.
Prior the the final day, Speculate 2 Accumulate’s 2015 Elite Service had led the Royal Ascot performance table and they managed to fend off the Layer Slayer challenge, by also selecting Out Do as a win and place bet for the Wokingham. That took their overall profit for the meeting to 67.46 points, based upon 1 point level stakes, based upon Betfair SP.
SpeedRatings.com two 25/1 winners saw them finish 2nd in the proofing table, which was an excellent follow up to their Cheltenham Festival performance, where they made 82.19 points BSP profit, giving them 133.4 points combined profit over the two festivals.
Newmarket Betting Club held on to 3rd place, despite not having any further selections and Tipping Supermarket’s TJW service came from no where, to jump up to 4th, thanks to Oriental Fox winning the last race of the Royal meeting, The Queen Alexandra Stakes, at 10/1 (BSP 15.96).
Stable Winners rounded off the top 5 thanks to their profits on the 1st day of the Royal meeting, but couldn’t find the winners enclosure on any of the subsequent days.
Laying To Lose
As mentioned during the festival, there wasn’t much lay bet activity from any of the tipsters who proof to Racing-Index, the exception being Lay Bet Winners, who laid 17 selections at the meeting, of which 15 got beat. This gave them 1.59 points profit, based upon 1 point risked per bet.
Wayne Bailey Racing came a close 2nd thanks to 1.38 points profit, from just 2 selections, which were given as place lays, finishing 26th and 13th.
