The Racing Edge tipster service has been proofing their selections to Racing-Index for the past 6 months and as the table below shows, their results so far have been pretty impressive, with just one month (December) when they’ve not made a profit to Betfair SP. View Full proofed results for The Racing Edge.
Overall they’ve proofed 882 bets of which 162 have won, giving a strike rate of 18.4% and a profit of 118.78 points to 1 point level stakes, based upon Betfair SPs. If we take a look at a graph of their proofing performance, you’ll see they hit a rich vain of form, from when they started proofing in mid September, through to mid October. Results then dropped off until the latter part of November, but then remained pretty static until the end of February.
From 27th February 2017 (the area I’ve highlighted in yellow on the graph) they’ve had a new tipster making the selections. On their site they describe him as:
‘John Doe’, a professional who has been barred by every online, high street and on course bookmaker going – hence the name.
His strategy is to nearly always back 2 selections in a race and as you can see from the graph, so far the strategy is proving very successful. All selections since ‘John Doe’ took over the reins have been proofed as win only, but when sending out the selections they don’t specify if they should be backed win only or each-way, leaving it up to each individuals own preference.
Selections are emailed to members before 9:00 pm the evening before racing, so they have opportunity to take advantage of early odds via the Best Odds Guaranteed bookmakers.
Winners since the 27th Feb include Admirable Art @ 18/1 (BSP 21.0), Kiwi Bay @ 25/1 (BSP 30.36), Coole Craft @12/1 (BSP 21.00) and Salateen 25/1 (BSP 41.43).
They’ve proofed 2 selections for each of 6 of today’s Cheltenham races (not the Arkle) so it’ll be interesting to see if they can continue the great form at the festival. I’ll report back on how their selections get on throughout the festival.
