I thought I’d wait until the end of the month to bring you the latest results of the VRUN Best Odds Guaranteed v Betfair SP performance comparison. It’s fair to say results didn’t go too well for the first few days after the last update I brought you, but then they took a break, with no selections over the Easter weekend and then bounced back in style on Easter Monday.
It’s been an interesting period for the different odds comparisons. Easter Monday’s winners saw the profit from Betfair Early Prices catch up with those from Betfair SP, but then Wednesday’s winner Brook, which was available on Betfair at 6.60 at the time I grabbed the prices, drifted out to a BSP of 10.85, so the BSP profit figures surged ahead again. Mean while BOG prices continued to dominate, as they were able to take advantage of early prices on selections that shortened, plus they were enhanced by the SP uplift of 9/1 on Brook, when only 11/2 had been available earlier.
In the last couple of days VRUN have put up a few bigger priced selections, where the BSP has been way higher than SP. It will be interesting to see the effect it has on the performance graph if one of the bigger priced selections was to win.
After 7 weeks of comparison it’s impressive that VRUN have managed 39 points profit based upon BOG prices, 25 points at BSP, 22 points based upon early Betfair prices and are even showing a small profit based upon SP. Hopefully they can keep that sort of performance going during April, which can be a notoriously difficult month for betting.
